Lokman becomes the SUPERMAN of Nepal

Lok Man Singh Karki has been appointed as the Chief of Commission on Investigation into Abuse of Authority (CIAA) by the president for six years term amid a program at office of President, Sheetal Niwas on Wednesday morning. The appointment has been hugely criticized and termed un-constitution by political gurus.

The Supreme Court on Friday has issued a stay order at the appointment of Karki till the next hearing on April7.  A single bench of Justice Sushila Karki issued the interim order to halt the appointment process till the next hearing. The apext court has also directed both defendants and petitioner to appear before the court and asked the defendants to furnish a clarification on why Karki was being appointed to head the CIAA.

The ‘High-level Political Committee’ of UCPN-Maoist, NC, CPN-UML and UDMF had recommended Lokman Singh Karki to the Chief of Commission on Investigation into Abuse of Authority (CIAA)

In the past CIAA had convicted Karki of and declared him not eligible for the government services in future. Karki was accused of suppressing the People’s Movement-II (2006) during the regime of King Gyanendra Shah. He was also accused of amassing properties through illegal means during his tenure at the Department of Customs as director general.

The student organizations including the ALL Nepal National Free Students Union (ANNFSU), and ALL Nepal National Independent Students Union (ANNISU)-Revolutionary are on protest and demanding a quick resignation and further investigation.

CIAA is the state of anti-corruption agency in Nepal.

LOKTANTRA DIWAS or loottantra

Today is LOKTANTRA DIWAS hundreds of so called shahids died for it and only few group of people  are enjoying the loot-tantra. Billions of rupees were wasted in marking and reclaiming the pride and prestige of people but unfortunately there were too many issue of party politics, people's individual ego and so many things that the country was lest prioritize. The nation should have been the priority but it was the least, our political leader made it worst indulging themselves in power politics and corruption. They degraded the pride and prestige of their name where today a the word Neta is considered a slang....

Nation first, was never a condition it was just a slogan for the political manifesto...........

Democracy believes in equality and law by the book but a country like ours that follows the rule of corruption, nepotism and favoritism, things are more biased and manipulative. We have a President who aspires to have been redeemed because of his cast, we have parties that believe in communism and they have million of dollars, our poverty rates have gone up,  reservation gives upper hand to a janjati when his percentage is less and a qualified person has to draw back because of his cast etc these are the achievements of LOKTANTRA

We need a standardization in terms of politics. Politics in education sector is wrong, political parties doing anything and everything for the benefit of their party is wrong
Country should be the priority  not the party ........

The country needs intellects not reservation, the country needs good leaders not politicians..................
I'm not celebrating this LOKTANTRA because I fail to believe in this LOKTANTRA and this system.

POLITICS SHOULD BE DONE ONLY FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE NATION ......

KYC- kill your customer....................

Most of the banks have asked their account holders to update their information in compliance with Nepal Rastra Bank’s directive of filling the Know Your Client (KYC) form where most of us think it is done against corruption. But reality is KYC is not just being done for the purpose of public it has been imposed by the US government with pressure to blacklist us if we do not take initiative against the money laundering. Nepal was in the line of being blacklisted internationally for failing to comply with international money laundering rules and regulations. The Financial Action Task Force (FATF), a global anti- money laundering body, was considering blacklisting Nepal if the government had failed to introduce a law against organized crime. In a worst-case scenario, all banking correspondence could stop, and flow of aid and grants come to a standstill.

If blacklisted, foreign banks may not approve the letters of credit issued by Nepali banks. Such a scenario will also severely diminish Nepal’s prospects of getting foreign aid and investments.

The KYC forms is based on Anti Money Laundering and Combating Finance to Terrorism regulations, that require detailed information of the account holder, including citizenship certificate numbers and issue date of the kin, including that of grandparents, parents, sons, daughters and daughters-in-law. Likewise, the banks also require proof of address or the details of landlords. Know Your Customer refers to the procedures needed to be undertaken by financial institutions to identify and understand their customers in order to detect any sign of abnormal financial activities in their account. The insistence by banks that customers provide the citizenship numbers of their grandparents has irked account holders the most. The forms that require the citizenship numbers of the customers’ grandparents and daughters-in-law seem to keep potential customers away.

The fb generation

Using facebook on one hand people have become so dull and addicted with it where as on the other people are so expressive, they are networking, exploring their possibilities and trying their entrepreneurship skill, voicing their rights, speaking about their problems etc. It has given people a common platform of voicing their ideas and thoughts and to relate them  to the issues that were previously hidden. In fact realty is FB is next achievement of the twenty first century that has socially, psychological  and individually affected each and everyone of us at different level.

The Egypt revolution, the Indian rape case and Nepal Facebook movement all are examples of people's will, determination  and interest but there was a common factor, yes it was facebook. It was through facebook that people coordinated. One idea of change that was alone and had the courage to stand found many to voices and support. It made the change possible with just the form of expression that was easy and that was limitless of any boundaries.

Looking at individual level, every individual has so much to say and express but in the run of making your life work, the feelings, emotions and expressions are overshadowed by tensions, and problems. At the end of the day your left with loads of frustration from irregularities happening around to corruption to your wife not giving you attention to everything  that piles up. FB gives you a platform where you can express yourself to be who you are and to have your say ...?

Regardless of any consequences of making it loud that you are you and no matter what you will remain the same.......

Reality of today with facbook is the only standardize platform that talks about all phase of life from politics, psychology, crime and everything. Its unlimited and due to its unrestricted ability its has scored an image of being a friend of all. A friend that listens, that awakes and that increasing the LIKES saying you are not alone.

Except for the fact that it gets annoying at times with its marketing technique of showing unrelated post of groups that you cannot stop from displaying in your  news feed but hey its reality they also need to survive and  it just for the sake of numbers.....

The fb generation certainly has a way of change, how is the way you interpret.....................

Contemporary Nepal is a possibilities of prosperity

Nepal is a developing country with an agricultural economy. Agriculture is the mainstay of the economy, providing a livelihood for three-fourths of the population and accounting for about one-third of GDP. Industrial activity mainly involves the processing of agricultural products, including pulses, jute, sugarcane, tobacco, and grain. With an estimated 42,000 MW of feasible capacity, Nepal has considerable scope for exploiting its potential in hydro power but political instability hampers foreign investment. Additional challenges to Nepal's growth include its landlocked geographic location, civil strife and labor unrest, and its susceptibility to natural disaster.

Investment opportunity: Nepal has huge potential investment opportunities.  Due to bad political condition and lack of stability, Nepal has not been able to use it resources.

Hydropower: It is estimates that Nepal has approximately 42,000 MW of economically feasible hydropower potential. However, the present situation is that Nepal has developed only approximately 600 MW of hydropower.

Tourism:  Rated one of the top ten holiday destination by Lonely Planet in 2013, Nepal is considered as one of the most friendly and naturally beautiful country in the world. Possessing 8 of the 10 highest mountains in the world, Nepal is a hotspot destination for mountaineers, rock climbers and people seeking adventures.

Transit Point: Landlocked in between China and India, Nepal has huge potent to exploit its location. Its location at times is its weakness but with diplomatic relationship there is a scope of   business opportunity if it could established itself as a Transit point in between the two super powers

Human Resource: Due to low cost human resource in Nepal is very cost effective. In the current trend Nepal has been receiving a lot of outsourcing businesses in IT sector and technology field.

Contemporary Nepal is an aspiration of the fresh blood who believes in making the country move towards the path of development. Looking at the current pretext development process in Nepal was never a challenge but the administration was always a problem.  Bad politics, corruption, manipulation etc are some of the hindrance where things are slowly and gradually changing.
The contemporary Nepal believes in the young and fresh energy and leaders who have envisioned and promised to lead Nepal to the next phase of development and prosperity. Contemporary Nepal is not just about problems but it’s about looking at the opportunities to strive back against poverty, hunger, corruption and bad politics. Contemporary Nepal is about you, me everyone associated with Nepal who believes to be lawful citizens of Nepal- in the making of good governance……..

Nepal Moving towards the Path of Failed State

Wiki defines Failed state as "A failed state is a state perceived as having failed at some of the basic conditions and responsibilities of a sovereign government. There is no general consensus on the definition of a failed state."

According to NY times, "
Since the civil war ended, after the loss of more than 16,000 lives, a stalemate has ensued as each party caters to caste, class and ethnic divisions instead of national unity. Many politicians are maneuvering to get their hands on money from foreign aid, tourism and hydropower; even the Maoists have become crony capitalists, reaping large profits for themselves and their ostensibly proletarian party. Meanwhile, the bureaucracy, army and police — historically dominated by privileged social groups that never held them accountable — are becoming even more politicized and corrupt."

After making the Chief Justice (CJ) Khil Raj Regmi the Prime Minister (PM) of Nepal, the country has automatically landed into situation of uncertainty and anarchy.
The appointment of the current CJ as PM is unconstitutional under following reasons
1. No working class civil servant can occupy two posts.
2. According to the criteria of the Chief justice he or she cannot be involved in two jobs

According to the interim Constitution 2007 state under section  106.  Chief Justice and Judge not to be engaged in any other assignment :
(1) No Chief Justice or Judge of the Supreme Court shall be engaged in or deputed to any assignment other than that of Judge.
Provided that the Government of Nepal may, in consultation with the Judicial Council, depute the Chief Justice or any Judge of the Supreme Court to work concerning judicial inquiry, or to legal or judicial investigation or research, or to any other work of national concern, for a specified period.
          (2) No person who has once held the office of Chief Justice or a Judge of the Supreme Court shall be eligible for appointment to any government office other than the office as referred to in Sub-clause (a) of Clause (1) of Article 131 nor shall such person be entitled to practice law before any office or court.

Like such, involving the ex-sectaries as government ministers by the CJ is yet another mistake that cannot be undermined.

By signing the 11 points agreement the 4 political parties have landed the multi-party political system of Nepal into political
vacuum of no revival........
         1. There is a no probability of the election happening as only four parties made the agreement of appointing the CJ . How can there be an election or  fair election without the participation of all parties?
          2. The 11 points agreement secures the position of the CJ stating that the proposed head of the government will resume his function as chief justice after he accomplishes the task of holding the CA elections, which is described as the main responsibility of the election government. Regarding the dissolution or time frame of elected government has been lapsed stating the election will end the term period of CJ after the election which is too vague.

Time and again the president of Nepal, endorsing the idea to find a solution for the political crisis failed when   Nepal's political leaders failed to provide one common candidate for the post of prime minister. They kept the steady fight of opposing one other showcasing an image of bad politics and bad political culture. Nepal's Political leaders are FAILED and the Political situation is UNCERTAIN which can result in hard consequences. This is the example of a FAILED STATE in making that lacks to recognize its constitution and  peoples aspiration. The values of the pro democratic movement have been lost in the practice of power politics and corruption. The leadership and vision of political parties have just been limited within the scope of position and government. They failed to understand the pros and cons of Nepal's economic development as well as bilateral relationship.  With high influences and interference of  foreign ambassadors  and delegates in various high profile political meetings customizes the sovereignty of the country.

Nepal's Politics has suffered the consequences of Bad political culture where there is no trust in between political leaders and political parties. The values of  Democracy and democratic system is lost in the long term practice of freedom and secularism. Reality of Today is Anything can happen in the politics of Nepal where legality is just a phrase that can be erased or manipulated ..........

In case of  election, the political leaders will need to put stability and justice ahead of power and profit, which is impossible to imagine. The past practice of  cultural  impunity and social degradation has uprooted so much that it would be hard for the new government to tackle the problem which can neither  be curbed by the new constitution nor the leaders .........

Now its not upon the people to take the decision whether they want to suffer the consequences of bad politics or create a new system that is more prune to irregularities ............................

Bus for only tourists not for citizens

Why we Nepalese are so weak ?
The Nepal government provides Bus services for the so call Tourists (goro challa) and for us Nepalese we have to walk. It is pathetic just to give service to the tourists and how it is practical to do that. Isn’t the government supporting Nepal Bandha by doing so? What about the police and resources they keep a watch doing nothing and that's just because the opposition party is doing it? If the police prohibits then later when they to power they slack the police, what a rule ..............

I feel like a second grade citizen in my own country where a citizen is being treated like this. There should be a manner of equality or else there should be no discrimination. It’s  us the citizen who pay taxes to run the government not the tourists and I can guarantee you that we pay more taxes than them then why are we being be discriminated….

The political culture of Nepal has gone insane where politics has become a tool of power and corruption. Moral, Ethic and dignity are just words limited in books which is a hard to find.

This is an example of the weak mentality of discrimination, EITHER THERE SHOULD BE NO NEPAL BANDHA OR THERE SHOULD BE TRANSPORTATION FOR ALL..

I'm inked (Tattooed) and I'm not a criminal.............

This is not just a justification but a question of substance. Why are we being so limited that our physical appearance makes us so vulnerable against police brutality. Nepal Police has been brutal towards people with just overlooking their physical presence and it is so true. In a current drive against fighting crime the Nepal police have listed long hair, tattoos and piercing as physical traits of CRIMINALS. Anyone having long hair, tattoos and piercing would be treated then and there with harshness and brutality. It is completely illogical and absurd for a prestigious organization like Nepal police to do something like this. People do have their interest and rights and it’s their rights to look the way they want just by having a limited thinking of making assumption Nepal police cannot breach the social conduct.
These days’ tattoos, piercing and long hair has been in fashion and prestigious people do carry it as a form of art and presence but the Nepal police trying to counteract it upon normal public is wrong.

The definition of social presence and alertness certainly impede us in various ways of our presentation. It is hypocrisy just to overlook the fact that tattoos and piercing are a form of art and nagging the normal pubic in case of few practices of criminals is an example of weak mentality.

How can POLICE be so discriminatory that they would treat people accordingly? They are civil servants, they have to protect and serve the public instead of that they are trying to rule in just with the sense of frustration. We condemn from our side with every little effort to say the police need politeness and respect for the public. In retrospect of their work condition we do understand that they deal with brutality but that doesn’t mean that they have the right to use it upon everyone ………..

I feel Numb trying to be and trying to follow all the social conduct but it’s my life and I live it the way I want………………….

Nepal's Prime Minister in twitter

The Himalayan times reports, " Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai has fired up the twitterati within three days of his opening an account in the popular social media site."

Prime Minister of Nepal Baburam Bhattrai writing was seen firing up in the social netwroking site saying, "Give me single party majority govt. for 5 yrs like in Bihar. If I don’t show results, you can shoot me, young friends"
I must say another publicity stunts just like the one he performed during his Mustang Car. why are we so limited in such things?  Why do we have to believe in leaders who are doing nothing and they portray an image of being good and we have to listen to them. I think its what we all have seen and understood and still these publicity stunts works.

I think its the joke of the day, PM Bhattrai you have the power and you have every means to give this country a way and why are you not investing your energy and efforts towards it, is my question. At least you can resign on the moral ground if you have so much of frustration but he won't because he is the only leader in Nepal who believes who is famous for publicity stunts.

We the people have been waiting for a stable government where we have not seen any effort from your side and your party to work towards it and you say that you are dedicated. Mr. PM how about you using your valuable time in doing something than to wasting it in updating your status there are so many things to do rather than this sort of publicity stunts.

To reality what has been believed the country is run by pashupatinath and the leaders have anything to care for because the god runs this country, so why waste time in doing anything.

I must say Mr Bhattrai you are really an intellect who know how to twist and turn the scenario. I guess you know what we all want but we don't know what you and your party wants for this country........................................

Human Rights Atrocities or a strategic Planning

Col Kumar Lama

Colonel Kumar Lama a 46-year-old Nepal Army officer, currently seconded to the UN peace keeper in Sudan, was held at his East Sussex home by Metropolitan Police officers on 3rd January 2013.He is charged with intentionally "inflicting severe pain or suffering or human rights atrocities” against  Janak Bahadur Raut between April 15 and May 1, 2005, and on Karam Hussain between April 15 and October 31, that allegedly occurred at the Gorusinghe Army Barracks in Nepal.

The arrest issue of Col Kumar Lama is a very strategic movement laid down by the developed country. Developed countries (European Union) have been trying to establish Nepal as a federal republic nation but due to complication of the political understanding, they have not been able to fulfill it. The action directly deals with the sovereignty of Nepal where a third country has no rights to interrupt in the name of justice and human rights.
Point to be noted
-Col Lama currently is a UN soldier posted in SUDAN how come with his arrest UN is not doing
-Col Lama was demoted for his action
-Col Lama had committed the crime here in Nepal why is a foreign country so interested in it
- Human Rights Atrocities issue is not a question of action but is a matter of investigation and diplomacy
-During the insurgency in Nepal, UK had supported the drive against terrorism and had helped Nepal with resources and support
- In technical terms during hour of alert and emergency the state has given a full right to the officials to detail people for interrogation and why is this issue being raised so much
